Evans, Ga. - Mr. William S. Mauldin, Jr., 64, entered into rest Friday, July 18, 2008, husband of 45 years to Carol Shelby Mauldin.
Mr. Mauldin was a native of Augusta and lived all of his life in the Augusta area. He was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County. Mr. Mauldin worked as a superintendent for the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Augusta for eleven years. He later went on to carry on the family tradition of 3 generations to work as an engineer on the GA Railroad/CSXT. He also served as Local Chairman and Treasurer for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Division 323 for over 23 years. Mr. Mauldin was the owner of Circle M Builders, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Augusta and attended Christ Church Presbyterian. He was a Mason, Social Lodge No. 1 A&FM, Scottish Rite Temple, a Shriner with the Augusta Alee Temple and an active member in the Augusta Irish American Heritage Society.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter and son-in-law: Mary Carol and Danny Eicher of Augusta, GA, son and daughter-in-law: William S. (Trey) III and Amy Mauldin of Rockwall, TX, grandchildren: Carol Corinne (Cori) Eicher, Daniel Edward Eicher III, William S. (Drew) Mauldin, IV, Sarah Elizabeth Mauldin, Kenneth Chandler Mauldin, Chase Lawrence Mauldin, sister and husband: Sandra and Oliver Brown, sister-in-law and husband: Janice and Dave Outland, brother-in-law and wife: Randall and Debra Shelby, great aunt: Carolyn Mauldin Harrill, many nieces, nephews, cousins and his equine companion “Doc”.
Graveside services will be held today, Monday, July 21, 2008 at 3:00 PM in Westover Memorial Park with Morgan C. Jones, cousin of the family, officiating.
