William Thomas Walsh

Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, Mr. William Thomas Walsh 83, beloved husband of Mayme Fox Walsh.
Mr. Walsh was a native of Stamford, Connecticut but grew up in Old Greenwich. He was a WWII veteran of the 511th Parachute Infantry in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and received his Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering. He lettered in Diving and Swimming and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Mr. Walsh was a member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church. Mr. Walsh retired from sales. He was a longtime member of Westlake County Club and loved golf, ice hockey and skiing. He was also very patriotic and loved his country.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Elizabeth Shields Walsh and her fiancé Bryan McAleer; son: William Thomas Walsh, Jr; brother: James Henry Walsh Jr. and his wife Nancy; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Jason Haddox, celebrant. The family will receive friends following the service in the Parish Hall.
