Mr. William Weston IV
Augusta, GA – Mr. William Weston, IV, beloved husband of Elaine Echols Weston, entered into rest on Friday, October 7, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, son William Weston, V, and daughter Elizabeth Echols Weston. He also is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. William Weston, III; a brother, Mr. James S. V. Weston (Kristen); three sisters, Mrs. Anne Weston Sass (Doug), Mrs. Shannon Weston Bush (Whatley) and Mrs. Margaret Weston Blanchard (Chris); brothers-in-law Dr. J. Martin Echols, Jr. (Mona) and Mr. Randall L. Echols (Carolyn); sister-in-law Elise Echols Poole (Dr. Richard); and sixteen nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his in-laws, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Echols, Sr.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church with The Rev. James Silcox and The Very Rev. Robert Fain officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Augusta Golf Association.
Will was born in Durham, North Carolina, and he moved to Augusta during high school where he met his wife, Elaine. He was Vice-President of Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance Agency, Inc., and a faithful member of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church. Over the years, Will served on various local boards, and was an active member of the Exchange Club of Augusta, Augusta Country Club and the Augusta Golf Association. He was the immediate Past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, as well as a past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Augusta. Additionally, he was President-Elect of the Hale House Foundation, board member of the Georgia Meth Project and past President of Child Advocacy. He was a long-time supporter of the Masters Golf Tournament, and served as a leader of the Gallery Committee for many years.
A devoted husband and father, Will adored his wife of twenty-six years and his wonderful children. He treasured spending time with his many friends where his warmth, kindness and love of life were an inspiration to all who knew him. He had a passion for playing golf, bird hunting, and supporting the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and graduated in 1983. He also was inducted into the Gridiron Society in 2009.
