William Charles “Bill” Zaenglein
March 3, 1927-June 11, 2009

AUGUSTA, GA – William Charles “Bill” Zaenglein, 82, son of the late Urban C. Zaenglein and Marie DeBanto Zaenglein, died on June 11, 2009.

Mr. Zaenglein was a graduate of the University of Dayton, Dayton, OH. He served in the U. S. Army and was a retired U. S. Civil Service Logistics Specialist at Warner Robins Air Force Base. As a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Macon, GA, he belonged to the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Thomas I. Sheehan Council 925 and served as Grand Knight for two terms. He was also a member of the Monsignor Thomas I. Sheehan Assembly 175.

He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Beth Zaenglein and later by wife, Jane Hasty Zaenglein. Survivors include his sister, Dorothy Thompson; 7 children, Dan (Donna) Zaenglein, Jane Montgomery, Judy (Tom) Hartney, Susan (Tom) Clonts, Sharon (John) Chipman, David (Jaris) Zaenglein, and Jim Zaenglein; step-daughter, Mary Kaye Parham; 22 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary & Celebration of Life will begin at 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, at Thomas Poteet & Son and the family will receive friends following the service.

A Vigil Service with rosary and visitation will be held in Macon, GA at 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 14, at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 746 Cherry Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 830 Poplar St., Macon, GA, followed by burial at Macon Memorial Park, 3969 Mercer University Dr., Macon, GA.
