Willie Thomas “Tommy” Lee, 74, of Keysville, GA entered into rest on May 31, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara B. Lee, his 3 daughters, Brandy (Paul) Dunaway, Tammy (Rob) Solomon, and Brooke (Scott) Branham, his brothers, Charles (Debbie) Lee and David Lee, grandchildren: Brandon Dunaway, Chloe Branham, Cody Gamble, and the late Tayler Dunaway; great granddaughter: Emma Dunaway.

Born in Columbia, SC, Tommy began his lifelong career as a trainer of American Saddlebred horses at a young age. His passion for these horses led him to develop many young horses that went on to World Championships. He was inducted into the Georgia American Saddlebred Hall of Fame. Upon meeting his wife, Barbara, he became an enthusiastic foxhunter, hunting alongside her at Belle Meade Hunt in Thomson, GA. Tommy and Barbara owned and ran Valley Hill Farm; where they raised horses and taught countless people, young and old alike, to love, respect, and handle horses. His second passion was cooking. One thing is for certain, he loved to feed the people he loved.

Tommy’s family and friends were his treasures in life. He will be remembered for his kindness and the generosity of his time and talent.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 10:00 A.M., followed by a service at 11:00 A.M.  in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Afterwards, the family invites everyone to join them at the farm for lunch and Tales of Tommy.
