Willis Eugene Hart

Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, September 8, 2024, Willis Eugene Hart, 76.

Willis “Gene” was a native of Augusta, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star among many other commendations for his service. Willis worked at the VA Hospital as a locksmith. Willis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and assisting other veterans, but most of all he loved his family.

Family members include his son: Virgil E. Hart (Jennifer); grandchildren: Cody Boynton (Carson), Virgil A. Hart, Kelsey Boynton, Cayden Hart and Jamielyn Ward. He was preceded in death by his son: James Hart; parents: Virgil and Carla Hart; brother: Jimmy Hart and sister: Wanda Wilkes.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Todd Brazell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
