Augusta, GA- Mr. Winston Churchill Morris, beloved husband of Patricia Giles Dinkins Morris, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Mr. Morris, 74, was born on December 8, 1941 to the late James Nelson Morris and Annie Mae Morris.
Winston retired after 43 years from The Tile Center in Augusta. He was a charter member of West Acres Baptist Church and member of the Love Sunday School Class. He loved fishing and just being outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and PaPa.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughter Tammy Gail Morris Lee and husband Brian, step-daughters Janet Vaughan and husband Billy, Donna Waters Zapata and husband Rob, and special adopted son Chris Newton and wife Nita of Havelock, NC.
Grandchildren include Christopher Waters, Christina Newton, Murphy Ann Faber (Nick) and William Newton.
Surviving siblings include: Bill Morris (Ruby); Donald Morris (Linda); Aubrey Morris and sisters Alice Breithaupt (Mel); Eleanor Granger. Additional family members include sister-in-law Carmen Morris and brothers-in-law Tony Giles (Rose Ann) and Kenny Giles, in addition to a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack A. Morris and sister, Peggy Morris.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, November 4, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Acres Baptist Church “His Story Fund”, 555 Gibbs Road, Evans, GA 30809 or to the Gideons International, 3923 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30907.
