Wm. Sanford Dickson
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Brandon Wilde, Mr. Wm. Sanford Dickson, 101, Husband of the late Elizabeth F. Dickson.
Sanford Dickson was a native of Rabun County, GA. He played semi- professional baseball in GA and SC. He served in the Navy in WW II and came to Camp Gordon in 1948. Mr. Dickson married Elizabeth Fountain in 1950. He retired from United States Civil Service at Ft. Gordon where he earned several departmental commendations. He loved the game of golf. He won the city championship and was the Senior Champion at numerous other tournaments held at Forest Hills and Gordon Lakes. Mr. Dickson was active in the Georgia Seniors Golf Association, and consistently shot under his age. He was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church and the Men’s Bible Class.
Family members include: stepdaughter: Jeri Schrader (Stan) of Evans, 3 grandsons: Stan Schrader Jr., Steven Schrader, Scott Schrader, great grandchildren: Sarah, Eliza, and Seth Schrader
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men’s Bible Class of Trinity on the Hill.
