Zena Hunter-Pingley

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Entered into rest Monday, August 31, 2009, Mrs. Zena Hunter-Pingley, 102, wife of the late Harold Hunter.
Mrs. Hunter-Pingley was a native of Iowa and had resided in Augusta since 1939. She was a caring and giving landlady and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church at Myrtle Beach, SC. She was a past Sunday school teacher at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, past PTA Officer at Joseph R. Lamar School and a Red Cross volunteer.
Family members include her sons: Harold H. Hunter of Sarasota, FL, Robert M. (Bob) Hunter of Augusta; daughter: Katherine (Kitti) Baker of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren: David Hunter, Robert (Cindi) Hunter, Ben (Lisa) Hunter, Beverly (Keith) Taylor, Dana Hunter, Nicole Baker; great-grandchildren: Kelly Hunter, Ashley Taylor, Caroline Taylor, Brooke Hunter, Amy Hunter, Katie Baker; good friend: Frances Busby; wonderful caregivers: Lula Edwards, Daisy Williams, Rose Hannibal, Brenda Sims, Nettie Scott and hospice nurse: Carolyn Mingledorf.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Fr. Mark Van Alstine officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Hunter, Ben Hunter, Keith Taylor, Nate Fields, David Eustace and Mark Koppleman.
